The prompts I'm offering this week relate to class discussions OR you can write on another topic related to class or college composing. Remember,
the common thread that runs through all our blogs is writing/composing and inquiry in college.
- Cassidy and Taylor asked us to react to the chapters we read today and/or the Boy Soldier video we watched. You can extend or revise that work for your blog. Some of you mentioned other videos that you can share with the class on your blog (check out Aricka's blog!)
- For Friday I asked plot your current positions on the rubric. Think of a composition you did recently for a class and how it might measure up in college. If you are comfortable sharing, you might write about that on your blog.
- The movie Blood Diamond, which takes place in Sierra Leone, is being shown on USA Network at 8 p.m. Sept. 3. While Beah doesn't mention conflict diamonds in his book, that is another issue related to the civil war. You might respond to the film in your blog or on how the film is being marketed: USA Network http://www.usanetwork.com/movies/blooddiamond/index.html
FYI there is a free showing of
Blood Diamond next Tuesday, Sept 8, 7:30 p.m., on campus in AJ 175.
